Give a little. Back young workers a lot.
Young workers face real challenges: dodgy contracts, precarious work, and pay that doesn’t reflect their worth, to name just a few.
At YWRC, we’ve got their backs. We proudly lead the way in NZ employment education and advocacy for young workers, but we rely on the kindness and solidarity of our friends and sponsors to keep paving the way. Which is where you come in…
By becoming a Solidarity Member, you’re helping us show up for young workers across Aotearoa. Your regular donation helps fund:
- Employment rights education in schools
- Free one-on-one employment advocacy, advice and support
- Accessible resources made by and for young workers
- Campaigns that push for real change!
Every dollar helps us educate and advocate for young workers across Aotearoa.
What is a
solidarity member?
Join the movement. Fund the mahi.
Our Solidarity Members believe in YWRC’s mahi and have committed to a regular, on-going donation that powers our work to support and empower young workers across Aotearoa.
But, being a Solidarity Member is also about more than just financial support; it’s about being part of our movement. This membership gives our amazing supporters a direct line to engage with our kaupapa, contribute ideas and shape the work we all care so much about.
As a Solidarity Member, you’re also a member of YWRC’s Incorporated Society. That means you have a voice and vote in the future direction and priorities of YWRC. You’re not just backing the mahi, you’re building the future of YWRC with us!
How does it work?
Your step-by-step guide:
1. Head to our donation box at the top of this page.
2. Choose a donation amount and frequency that works for you.
3. Click “become a solidarity member” when prompted in the donation box.
4. Complete the donation form and feel proud knowing you’re supporting young workers across Aotearoa!
Once we’ve received the first membership payment, you’ll receive a Solidarity Member Welcome Pack that outlines the benefits and opportunities your membership gives you. After that, you’ll receive updates on the impact of your support and opportunities to shape YWRC’s work.
You can change or cancel your membership at any time.
We appreciate any form your solidarity takes.
Why your
solidarity matters:
Your koha powers real change.
Every time you donate, you’re helping a young person understand their rights, get support, or stand tall at work.
Regular donations allow us to plan ahead, respond quickly, and keep showing up for the people who need us most.
Here’s what your solidarity looks like in action:
Over a year, your solidarity will cover the cost of:
$3/week: Gas to 6 local workshops.
$5/week: Education resources for 10 workshops.
$10/week: Supporting 1 young worker through an employment dispute.
$20/week: Booking + delivering 10 workshops.
$5/month: Printing 40 employment agreements zines.
$10/month: Educational resources for 1 workshop.
$25/month: Gas to 12 local workshops
$50/month: Reviewing 12 employment agreements.
